Okapi Educational Materials: Explorations are hot! These nonfiction books are quickly gaining momentum as a favorite in Wisconsin to use with your Guided Reading groups. The teacher's books are key to instant assessment. Also great for ELL and Title I students.
Benchmark Education Company: Nonfiction is their central area of focus in Math, Social Studies and Science content areas. Hot products from Benchmark include: Paired Text, Reader's Theatre, Summer School bags, Comprehension Strategies posters and their ever growing Spanish Resources.
Mondo Publishing: Many trainers have been requesting Mondo samples to use in the sessions. Their Safari series incorporates many genre around one subject--great for teacher paired text. Are you looking for something to help your students with their Oral Language? Mondo's Oral Language posters are perfect--more importantly their Oral Language Assessment helps to identify students who get stuck at low reading levels, especially when it comes to comprehension.
